CMR traces its origins to numerous experiences that, its founder, Christopher Roche, had working as an insurance broker for the world's largest brokerage firm, Marsh, Inc.. In this capacity, Chris interacted with CEO's and CFO's globally who were responsible for purchasing large blocks of insurance (Property/Casualty - Group Benefits) and securing and structuring 401(k), 403(b) plans and pensions for their companies.
What Chris discovered was that most clients searched locally to satisfy their requirements accessing local brokers and providers. Whether the company or organization was based domestically or internationally, vendor sourcing activities were concentrated locally. Another observation was that depending on where the CFO's geographic entry point was to the marketplace, quantitative and qualitative outcomes could be quite different. What one service provider offers in one location can vary 5-40% based on its geographic origin and a particular broker's expertise.
So he set out to prove his hypothesis by offering information to the worldwide marketplace. Ten-years of on-going research has resulted in the creation of The CMR Database®. By utilizing this unique proprietary resource, clients can now confidentally and quickly benchmark their existing rating fee and coverage characteristics with similar industries and organizations thereby expanding local options. Limited localized access to a multi-trillion dollar industry no longer need to be the norm when national and international market intelligence is available by using CMR.
Contained within the database are 5,000 brokers, broker/dealers, specialists and direct writers in Property/Casualty, Group Benefits and Retirement disciplines in over 120 countries. CMR tracks 40 different characteristics of each specialist, matching core compentencies to a clients' industry classification, and specific requirements.
CMR operates worldwide from offices in New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Dallas.
